apibrėžtis ↑Naujienų skaitytuvės komanda leisti prisijungti prie ↑naujienų grupės ir sukurti atitinkamą duomenų apie grupę įrašą programoje. Prieš vykdydamas komandą, naudotojas turi pateikti programai papildomų duomenų: naujienų serverio vardą ir savo elektroninio pašto adresą (jei nori ne tik skaityti naujienų grupių laiškus, bet ir atsakyti bei rašyti naujus). Įvykdžius komandą, pradedama skaityti prenumeruotos grupės laiškus (atsiunčiamas nurodytas skaičius laiškų antraščių) ir dalyvauti diskusijose.
